One Facebook friend just blocked me who was deeply into conspiracy theory and concluded that this reality is not real...we are all brainwashed into believing this world is real and the ones in control are working on behalf of a false God to help convince us that it is real. I didnt condemn the person but tried to argue rationally...instead, I was told how brainwashed I am. If one truly comes up to that conclusion, you cant fight for social justice...you just passively accept it and then lose yourself into religion because you believe that the only solution is a spiritual one. This is precisely what religion can do and the reason Marx called it the opiate of the masses. Basically, accept your miserable lives as your rewards are in heaven...those in charge love it when the masses accept that and it keeps them passive. This is also precisely what conspiracy theories do....so if you believe in some bizarre right wing conspiracy theory about New World Order or some other such nonsense....be careful about calling those nonbelievers that prefer rationality and critical thinking SHEEPLE, as you may very well be talking about yourself.
