One Minute Message 10/18/13 Devotional Thought: Parties and social gatherings are not only fun but also important to building healthy relationships. Jesus however discourages the use of resources to build self-status while ignoring service to others in need. People have always tried to impress and or indebt others to them for their own purposes. Rather than profit or loss think about sacrifice and service, “then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.” Devotional Text: Luke 14:12-14 (NLT) 12 Then he turned to his host. “When you put on a luncheon or a banquet,” he said, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors.
