“One More Race for the Old Horse!” Tomorrow I come out of my two year retirement for a new ministry! Appalachian Bible College (ABC) has invited me to join their faculty for the express purpose of establishing a new Bible College inside Mount Olive Correctional Facility in West Virginia. I will become the Director and primary instructor. This opportunity came to ABC at the request of the WV Commissioner of Corrections. His desire has been motivated by the success of the Bible College within Louisiana State Prison (commonly known as Angola). The New Orleans Baptist Seminary has been the source of instructors and college leadership. The WV Commissioner has been impressed with the tremendous reduction in violence since the Bible College has been established and has graduated over 150 men equipped to serve and model Christian morality! See numerous videos online. I am visiting Angola next week (26th-29th) for a first hand visit and interview with the college director and prison warden. I will not relocate but will commute weekly up on Sunday evenings and return Thursday afternoons. It is less than three hours (175 miles) and all four lane driving. I will continue to have devotions each morning with Enoch via FaceTime. He begins school tomorrow so timing is good. I will also have same schedule as ABC. Classes begin September 8th. Please pray for me and the first class of 25 men. I have asked the Lord to allow me to see this first class graduate before turning over the leadership to a new director. Ill be 71 by then!
