One More Word... One sweet thing I have found about the word is that it is beyond just words or letters; the word is a spirit. in other words, the word is a person; a being with the very ability of a normal being and even more. Jesus said the words that I speak unto you, they are SPIRIT and they are LIFE in other words, the word breathes, the word does, the word lives. Hebrews 12:4(the amplified version) says The Word of God is LIVING and ACTIVE. It lives and this life is not dormant. It is active, powerful, with the ability to do all that is required in you. Collosians 3:16: Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom... The Word has an inherent ability to dwell in man. Thats another work done by the Word alone without our help. We cannot force it to happen, it just happens because thats the ability inherent in the word; THE WORD DWELLS! John 1:14:The word became flesh(Jesus) and dwelt among us... When the word was on the earth, he dwelt among the people. The Word, in this times, dwells not among us but in us believers., Notice that the word as flesh didnt need the help from man to dwell among the people, how much more the word as spirit? The word that hit me hard in this scripture and birthed this episode is the word LET. To let means to allow or give allowance to someone or something. When the word let is used, it means the responsibility of that allowance falls to the person been referred to. For instance, Someone comes to my home and knocks on my door. I go over and open the door. The responsibility to let that someone into my home falls on me. That person, no matter how big, small or how related he is, he cannot force his way into my house if I dont let him in. If I eventually let that person in and that person comes in, probably to live in with me, it is still my house and I decide whether to set boundaries or give that someone full allowance in my house to do as he pleases. It applies to relationships. A guy comes and knocks on the door of my heart. I may or may not open up to him; my choice. The place I put him in my life is where he stays; whether the friend spot or the brother spot or the hubby spot or just an acquaintance or warrefa, he remains there, functioning according to the allowance I give him. This is what applies with the word. The word of God, as a person; a spirit, has the ability to dwell in us but the responsibility to let the the word come in and dwell falls on us. Going through collosians 3:16 in different translations, I found that every translation uses the word LET. This goes to show that, in as much as the word does all the work by himself, the word can only do as much. The word wont force its way into our hearts and minds, it will come in, if we let it, and it will do, if we let it. The word would do in us by himself everything we have been struggling to do and more, all we need to do is EAT and LET it go in and digest. The word of God is true wisdom and the indwelling of the word gives us true and unmatchable wisdom. Until the word has total freedom to dwell in us, we would keep fighting and struggling with things that have already been taken care of. Just Read and LET THE WORD WORK IN AND WALK THROUGH YOU! The message translation puts i this way Let the Word of Christ- the Message- have the run of the house. Give it plenty of room in your lives. Listen friend, the word shouldnt be a one time guest or a visitor or a certain neighbor or a flat/room mate. The word should be the Landlord of the house; the one who calls all the shots, has all the keys, makes all the decisions; The Word should be the air you breathe, the life you live. A lot of us stand in the doorway, refusing to let the word in and you wonder why you dont seem to understand the word. Many of us would rather worry than allow the word to take away the worry. Some would rather drown the voice of God with the noise of the world. Listen friend, if you must hear the voice of God, you must turn down the volume of the world.Relax, stop thinking, stop making so much noise in your heart, stop letting the world get in and take all the room in your heart. Quiet down, Stay on the word and let it in. Receive the word consistently into your spirit, LET IT IN AND LET IT DWELL! You want life? let the word dwell. You want healing? let the word dwell. You desire more of God and revelation? let the word dwell. direction? let the word dwell! want to break addictions, then let the word in and let it dwell! Eat up the word folks; Let it dwell. Read, Read and keep reading! Eat it constantly and consistently and let the word dwell. 2corinthians 3:18: But we all, with unveiled faces, beholding as in a mirror, the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, Just as BY THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD(the word). Realize that your responsibility is o just keep beholding; keep gazing; keep looking on the word day and night, night and day. The transformation is done by the word, The Spirit of the Lord, not by you in any way. Your transformation is in your looking on the word(not at it but on it). Let us come to the conclusion of the whole mater. Eat the word: Read it like a novel... Read again and again and again and again and then Read it some more, constantly, consistently, continuously. Dont stop reading. Eat it till you are eaten up by it. The understanding of the word and the revelation thereof has nothing to do with you. Thats the words responsibility; Gods business and not yours. Just Let the word come in and let it do the work in you! Stop trying to get the word! Let the word get you dear... LET IT GET YOU!
