One RPCVs small business is making big social investments in Tamba. Last Wednesday Koussanar, Tambacounda celebrated the opening of the Café Baobab Bleu. Peace Corps/Senegal Volunteers Miles Conant and Kathleen Kyle partnered with 4 JICA Volunteers to teach composting and nutrition to more than 50 attendees. Patrons enjoyed the international library, coffee, homemade ice-cream and icy bissap juice. RPCV Ronald Otteson served in Makacolibantan in the 90s and hopes his café will be a PCV hub. His host siblings now manage it. At the opening, he made a donation to the Michele Sylvester Scholarship fund, in the name of the Café Baobab Bleu, through the Peace Corps Partnership Program. Really, really inspiring. In my view, those two exemplify what Peace Corps is all about.
