One Thing Leads to Another or The Gift That Keeps on - TopicsExpress

One Thing Leads to Another or The Gift That Keeps on Giving Yesterday, I was able to use one of my Christmas gifts for the first time. It is a 6 in 1 entertainment center, which plays CDs, record albums, radio, and more. Before I left for work, I grabbed the first record album I could find and played it. It sounded great! This morning, as I sit here writing, listening to The Longines Symphonettes Home for the Holidays record, I was struck by the notion that the entertainment center I received for Christmas is really a gift that keeps on giving, by allowing me to listen to record albums. I havent heard some of these albums in years, and I have never listened to some of the others, as they were given to me when my in-laws passed away. The music is beautiful and brings back many memories. Hmm...one thing leads to another. The gift that keeps on giving. I know I was referring to the entertainment center, but wait just a moment. Couldnt I also be referring to Gods Word? Reading the Bible leads us to connect with our faith. Story upon story fill the Bible of people, just like you and me, ordinary people who went on to do extraordinary things because of God. Once you start reading the Bible, you just cant put it down. Our faith history comes to life, from Genesis to Revelation. You know something? Jesus was the gift that keeps on giving also. He came to us, leaving his heavenly throne to become human, sharing his faith and wisdom with us. Although some people believe that ended when Jesus gave up his life on the cross, I disagree. I feel that Jesus death on the cross was just part of the beginning for us. Jesus has kept on giving us the prayers, blessings, and miracles we need to keep going in our lives. Jesus was, and IS, the gift that keeps on giving, a one size fits all Savior who is just what we need when we need Him. We dont have to worry about returning the gift of Jesus. We just need to make sure weve opened that gift (Jesus) and that we use him every day in our lives. Jesus: He was and is the perfect gift, the gift that keeps on giving. Amen. ~John Lloyd~
