When they grow up, these lions are sold or donated to different nationalparks or to researching institutes all over Africa after thorough research. One of the biggest problems in South Africa is that there are no places for the lions to live freely, because of aids and tuberculosis in the Kruger park. A lion over the age of two years old will have too strong instincts to interact with humans, and it will kill without thinking twice. That’s also why they are taken away from humans at Ukutula when they’re half a year old. The goal here is to breed lions so it’s one day possible to set them out in the free in South Africa, and also they give people (and especially children) the chance to interact with lioncubs so that they won’t hunt lions when they grow up.
