One comment: “There’s nothing wrong with asking for a separate province – in fact, Pakistan needs more provinces, because greater autonomy = better representation of the local population = greater probability of responsible governance. But MQM should be smart enough to request a separate province on administrative basis instead of an ethnic one – this isn’t 1988 anymore, confrontation isn’t going to get anyone on their side, not with their street reputation.”
