One dark night in my life I hopped on a greyhound bus. My spirits - TopicsExpress

One dark night in my life I hopped on a greyhound bus. My spirits broken, and trampled on, I sought to escape for a while. I felt damaged, or perhaps a bit worthless, and the gentle jostles and bumps seemed to rent me peace of mind for a few hours. A beautiful stranger sat next to me and gave me one of the most honest conversations ive ever had. We stole the hours from the night as we wound down the rockies, taking turns revealing small but crucial truths of our pasts, like two gun men blindly firing questions at each other, neither wanting to expose themselves to aim. Like two high walled castles tossing heavy boulders back and forth with poetry taped to the dry rocky face... Each question asked seemed bringing up more rubble and dirt than its weight in wisdom. She was a blacklight in the night, subtle and strange. Yet there was an honesty of her words, her tattoos hinted hardship, and her eyes spoke pain like they were born into it. No doubt, a rare soul like mine. I think she was really sick. Are you going to be okay? i asked, concerned. Exposed. She looked up right into my eyes. Okay is a state of mind. she shot back. I wont ever forget that lesson again. Ever. I learned a lot that trip.
