One day I had a conversation with a Christian sister pertaining to purity, then in our conversation she exclaimed, Man of God its not our fault, sometimes we want to be holy but before we know were in sin again; then I said to her, I know personally of Christian sisters like your size and age who have kept themselves absolutely for the Lord and not living in sin, does that mean they dont have feelings or are they super humans? She said No Then I taught her three (3) things which I want to share with you: 1. Determination (STRIVE): No Christian can live right for God if theyre not determined to, it must be a firm decision that will move God to approve it with his power. Joshua said, But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord- Joshua 24:15, this was firm decision. Hebrews 12:14 says, STRIVE to be holy, in other words its like a fight, it doesnt come on a silver platter. 2. SEPARATE: No one can come near fire and expect not to feel its heat or not get burnt; the same way as a believer you cant go to the wrong places, hang out with wrong friends, involve in wrong relationships, watch bad things, hear bad things and not expect to live in sin. There must be a clear line, either you cut off from those things and keep your righteousness or be with those things and lose your righteousness, theres no middle point. You cant be in a platonic relationship and say I will not fornicate, you cant serve two masters either you please one and make the other angry, the lines must be drawn. There are only two paths in life; curse or blessing, hell or heaven, Satan or God, unrighteousness or righteousness, you must take one and be on it. 2 Corinthians 4:16, DO NOT BE UNEQUALLY YOKED Separate yourself, cut off every tie with anything that draws you away from God, you cant enjoy sin and holiness at the same time, you must hate one and love one. 3. WAIT UPON THE LORD: This is one area some of us believers may not often do, to wait upon someone means to be in a certain mood of preparation, at a certain place and in expectation to meet that person; waiting on God is putting yourself in certain Godly mood that makes you meet God and he meets you. Fasting, prayer, studying his word, praise and worship, all these help us to wait on God, when he meets us the result is that we become more like him, we become empowered. So a believer must pray till he feels God, he experience God in his prayer, that is real prayer. THEM THAT WAIT UPON THE LORD SHALL WALK UNDER FRESH ANOINTING Isaiah 40:31 So how did we put this into practice? That same day, I gave the sister an assignment; 1. I made her delete from her phone anything that is bad and ungodly- every profane picture, 2. I made her change her phone number and got her a new one, I told her this new number must be known by only those who draw you closer to God; you dont need anymore any friend who draws you away, 3. I encouraged her to wait upon the Lord through fasting, prayer and meditating on the word of God. Few days later she sent me a message, Man of God I can now feel God in my life again and within days God did a very great miracle in her life, he saved her from a fire accident at her work place, her colleague got burnt but she did not.
