One day, history will tell of the great empire that failed—not on economic, military or even political grounds, but—from the replacement of the foundations of the system itself (that of the family unit) with materialist conceptions of perceived value. Sadly, the notice of such occurred too late for the inattentive citizenry to repair the damage, as all determined to fall prey to the seductive forces of consumerism and material wealth. Unfortunate, those who suffered through the times of lost core values knowing, but unable to ameliorate the situation for themselves or future generations of their descendants.
