One evening, realizing my car exterior was filthy, knowing I needed to run a delivery to funeral home the next a.m. and believing its just good manners to do that in a clean vehicle, I decided to wash my car. However, I had spent the last of my cash at Dairy Queen earlier that evening, down to the last 3 pennies...and one of them was Canadian. Not wanting to go get more cash, I scrounged quickly around home, located 4 quarters, enough to rinse my car, not enough to wash it. Decided to hand wash, then drive the short distance to car wash for a good rinse. Knowing Gary would turn the world and the house upside down looking for me some quarters, (in and out of our cars, under seats, in glove boxes, ash trays, hes usually effective but it takes a lot of time) I skipped that fact when I told him, Ill be outside here, hand washing the car. He questioned me slightly, then said okay, whatever. I collected hose, bucket, soap, and sponge and got to work. He stuck his head out the door, checked on the progress a couple times..on the third time, he said, this is kind of embarrassing, you hand washing your car, right here when we live so close to the car wash, why, all them people driving up and down K Hwy will think we dont have any quarters!!!
