One final rant: So, CNN.COM has an article up, a Call to Action by Elton John. His call to action to all is to raise awareness of the deadly illness of AIDS. A truly worthy cause. I would like to raise awareness, even though it will never make CNN.COM because I do not have a mouthpiece such as Sir Elton John, to the awareness of suicide! In our country, the USA, 15, 549 people died from AIDS in 2010. And, of these, not all are confirmed to have died from AIDS. They had AIDS and whether it was AIDS or not, they died with AIDS. In 2010, greater than 30,000 people died from suicide. All of them were confirmed to have died from suicide. My point? More than twice as many people die from suicide than from AIDS in the U.S. The rate of suicide in the military is out of control. When will suicide and mental illness make the top of the headlines at CNN.COM and awareness for those who suffer at greater peril be heard? afsp.org Thats it. Done.
