One for Paul Adams (I saw your post on the vintage tackle page, great looking reel) Riddle me this: Would a Leeda Gearfly 3.5 multiplier be considered suitable for my requirements? I am looking at building a weekend kit, and have decided I must include a fishing system beyond a baggie of hooks and a spool of poly. So, Ive settled on a ten foot Shakespeare Mustang telescopic rod and either a centrepin (the Leeda) or a Shimano Chronarch baby multiplier. The bait Im packing is jellies and spoons/spinners. I have a fly setup already consisting of a two-piece custom spun 9 foot rod and a cheapie Shakespeare salmon reel and two spools, but theyre what I would consider a bit bulky for a weekend pack. The packrod is therefore the one getting used. Anyone else had any sort of experience using centrepins with coarse or packrods?
