One for my statistically and politically minded friends: I like the site ABC Fact Check linky: abc.net.au/news/factcheck/ Im not overly political, but its a good area to view analysis of what politicians say and do... and whether they would be able to back up their claims if pressed. There seems to be a good team analysing and condensing the information down to a very readable/watchable format (or at least its current format is, mostly. An earlier version seems to be a little inconsistent when handing out the final analysis points/scaling. Also, they seem to not hand out Yellow points very often/ever... only red, orange and green). So... for science... I decided to see just how all of the parties stack up, and Ive done a quick (and dirty) analysis. Its taken me most of the day so far to put it in to a spread sheet and, due to some minor inconsistencies/room for interpretation (particularly with earlier results), the scale Ive used is probably a little off (and if yellow is not a colour they use, my scale is definitely out... and their logo is misleading :P)... but I think it is an amusing look at what has transpired in the realm of Australian political claims in the past ~15 months. I couldnt find a quick check on their site, so I sort of made one. Did this partially because I am still sick and doing anything that requires more than light walking/thinking is a little too energetic, and partially because I am in an analysing phase at the moment & will analyse anything if I thought it would produce amusing information... But mainly because I have developed an extreme level of procrastination when it comes to tidying the unit. I dont have much time on my hands, but being sick is making me isolationist... I think. Moreso than normal anyway. Various notes made on this analysis is coming up in the comments... Also, Help.
