One for the researchers among you. I am guessing that for whatever reasons this man was not regarded as a war casualty by IWGC. Possibly no one ever applied? I assume from the wording on the stone that he died from wounds. All I have found about him (from freebmd.org) is that he was born in Blackburn in 1889. A few entries might relate to the death or remarriage of his wife. Those with access to relevant pay sites can probably find out more about the family from census records etc and about his war service from forces records. The stone is in CE E No 3633
