One from my time in Bangkok: The Game of Love We were young and dumb Kind of stuck on ourselves And dumping on everyone Who played the game But the moon was full And it’s said there’s a tide In the life of each boy at school Leading him on Love is the game, so why don’t we play it? Love is the urge, so why not obey it? Love is the word, so come out and say it Love And you have to admit that it fits Like a hand in a glove So we shot the moon Brought to bear all our Savoir-faire from Romper Room All in the name Slow to pick up steam But in fits and in starts We managed to make the team Riding a wave Love is the game, but sometimes it’s tricky Doesn’t work out, like Lucy and Ricky There hangs a tale of Minnie and Mickey Love And you have to admit that it fits Like a hand in a glove Take the birds and bees So we broke a few rules And maybe we skinned our knees All in the game Spin the wheel and lose Pick a number and win a towel Labeled his and whose Fortune’s the dame. Love is the game, etc.
