One good point to keep in mind for self-preservation on personal, societal, and even a planetary level, is that sociopaths are not just sociopathic in one area of their lives. Their brain chemistry is their brain chemistry and it will show up in all areas of their lives. They are often smart and personable, so perhaps its easy to overlook it, misinterpret their behavior in their favor, give them the benefit of doubt, etc. but that can be quite dangerous. Out of every 100 people you meet, four will be sociopathic, one of those a woman, and that 4% can do enormous damage - especially as a lover, boss, employee, or partner. Our failure to recognize and deal effectively with sociopaths is costing us our wildlife, our economy, and our planet.
