One has to wonder why it took a special review to realize the issues with the mental health system in NH. All they had to do was ask the people who suffer with a mental illness what is lacking in care. They could also have asked the people who work with those with mental illness what can be done. The writing has been on the wall for a long time. Keep cutting the budget and living in your fantasy world that all people can live in the community without proper care and limited resources. Now you do a study to find out why its not working to house folks in crisis in the emergency rooms while they wait for a bed at NHH. Hello! You are the ones who cut the beds at NHH, You are the ones who constantly cut the budget for mental health resources. So now all the folks in need will wait and wait. Until people who have no clue about the suffering that people with mental illness go through, finally decide and agree on increased funding and pass bills/laws to implement the funding.
