One if my favorite childhood memories was from Ruskin Cave in the late 50s. It was at the Fourth of July picnic celebration. My mom entered me in the bobbing for apples competition. I was the youngest entrant at age 6 or 7, so they decided to let me go first. I was determined to win that bright shiny red flyer wagon! I knelt down with my hands behind my back and pushed my entire head to the bottom of that barrel. When I came up, all were shocked to see the big red apple in my mouth! Contest over! My mom and grandmother were so proud. We stayed until dark with me proudly pulling that wagon. Took a week to stop grinning !!
