One important aspect of living trust preparation has to do with "funding" your trust. Funding is the act of transferring your assets from yourself to your living trust. I had a client come to my office today to amend her living trust. She had prepared her trust in 1997. I asked her what assets the trust owned and she replied, "Nothing."
