One last election thing before I shut it off for a few hours...when results roll in...but... I just want to express my view of the danger in people being OK with Sheriffs, Police Officers and positions of the like ENDORSING elected candidates and sharing their views on things like Medical Cannabis. When John Morgan debated Sheriff Gualtieri, the Sheriff...AN ELECTED OFFICIAL HIMSELF...made claims and points that were not only ridiculously unfair, but showed WHY its dangerous for a Sheriff or a Cop to endorse or lay claim on laws. Police and Sheriffs are in their position to ENFORCE THE LAWS MADE BY THE PEOPLE...NOT TO CREATE AND ENCOURAGE/DISCOURAGE LAWS. WE DO NOT LIVE IN A POLICE STATE. THE DAY LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICIALS HAVE THAT MUCH INFLUENCE ON LAW MAKING IS A VERY SCARY DAY FOR AMERICA. In Cocoa Beach, I received NUMEROUS political ad pieces, many quoting cops and law enforcement. I voted AGAINST the people they endorsed, STRICTLY to send the message that yes...I RESPECT you and I APPRECIATE the job Police and Sheriffs do EVERYWHERE...but I believe your job is to enforce the laws that WE the PEOPLE create...not create the laws youd like to see/not see pass. #YESON2 #NOonGAULTIERI #NOonJUDD
