One last medical one, from the same newsletter listed below, pp 164 (extracted from MMWR 6 Sep 2013, 62:729): kids are using more e-cigarettes (ECs). This is probably in many ways a big DUH! However, it brings up the conflict between the question of whether ECs are a gateway to other things (like cigarettes), which is not known; and the evidence the ECs may be a useful tool for helping already-addicted (to cigarettes) people put down. Stay tuned for what I suspect will me more and bitterly argued data on this subject.
