One last thing about the anti-vaccination hoax is its cruelty to the parents of children on the Autism spectrum. That they should blame themselves for their childs autism because they got them vaccinated. That is so very very cruel. We want control over terrifying things. Like cancer. Or having an autistic kid. So some people gravitate to causes and cures that give them the illusion of control. If only it were true. That would be so great. If we knew the cause of autism spectrum and could prevent it. (though what would we lose by not having differently abled people?) If your cancer would go away if you drink a lot of healthy juices and have a positive attitude -- wouldnt that be great? Id be all for it. In lieu of those things being true, however, what we have is science. And medicine. And, one would hope, compassion for people caught up in lifes uncontrollable uncertainties and unfairnesses. Not blame, for gods sake.
