One lesson we learned carving stone is that the edges are too - TopicsExpress

One lesson we learned carving stone is that the edges are too sharp. We discovered that mixing black acrylic with joint compound and then dabbled selectively, softens the edges and creases. That is unless you want a slate style look. As we also used packing foam in some spots (tunnel entrance), we really liked the look that this slurry created. It will be some time until we can fully paint it. We installed the track bed and hooks to run cabling overhead. Josh Macomber is busy blacking out the interior and track bed. Tomorrow, we will lay the track, begin building the east village base (foam board), and the remaining stone work around the edge.
