One man who described himself as culturally a Jew drew close and told me in a low voice that whenever he sees an object with Jewish significance in a European antique shop, he buys it to get it out of there. He stopped and wiped tears, and said it must have been torn from a synagogue or Jewish family stripped of their homes in WW 2. So in this way, he found an old worn Torah, bought it, and took it home, all the way home to the US, in his arms. ( do I think he doesnt have reverence or faith? I think he does.) when he got off the plane in NYC, it just so happened ( that is God , by the way) it just so happened that he passed in the airport a distinguished scholar and restorer of holy things, who recognized what he was holding in his arms, stopped him to ask him about it, and then offered to take it from him, and restore it to its proper life again. He gratefully gave it into the scholars arms, feeling strongly that he had been guided ever since he just so happened to have found it. He said that this event led indirectly to two of his children recommitting to their faith. It just so happened.....
