One more VERY IMPORTANT note: if your child ever complains of pain, have it checked out, if the doctors send you away, and your child continues to complain of pain, take them back again and again...find a new doctor if the first, second or third wont listen. Whatever you do listen to your child, listen to your intuition, and find a doctor who will listen to your concerns. Katelynns tumor was missed in an X-ray that was done in January of this year, it was her 3rd visit to that office about her leg pain. We were told the X-ray was healthy, and to the untrained medical profession they were healthy appearing. Except one minutely huge issue there was a shadowy spot in her left femoral neckbone of her hip that wasnt picked up on b/c the doc reading the X-ray was a general practitioner, not a radiologist, not an orthopedic specialist and he simply didnt know what to look for, didnt notice it or decided it was just a shadow on the film...regardless it was missed, and never mentioned to me at all whatsoever. Shes suffered for far longer than necessary...and I will NEVER forgive myself for that. Sometimes we put too much faith in our doctors, and ignore our gut feelings. Learn from my mistake, and Dont do that, ever! If it doesnt add up to you, and if it doesnt feel right...theres probably a reason.
