One more day of early voting. The rhetoric is heating up on the school bond issue. Before you cast your vote get beyond the rhetoric and look at the facts. The attached table was designed to point out the problems. However, if you look at all of the data it also shows the solutions. See how UNDERUTILIZED the 9th grade building is? And the high school? Move some kids around (8th or 7th and 8th to the 9th grade center) and almost all of the overcrowding goes away for several years. Raise taxes in the meantime and PAY CASH for the needed improvements instead of going into debt. Remember, there are already plans to come back and ask for another $70 million dollars in a couple of years for a new middle school. Why do we need that if the 9th grade center could be used for that purpose for the next 7 years? Mike Brasovan
