One more station taken over by an out of state entity. Dont forget that there is still a lot of really creative programming produced by the states college and community stations that occupy the lower part of the FM dial, 88 - 92 Mhz. Many of these stations have programming that sound very similar to the good days of FM broadcasting, the sixties and the seventies and although none of them have the powerful signal of 106.9 all of them stream so you can listen to them everywhere. Check out WAPJ-89.9 Torrington Community Radio, WESU-89.3 Trinity, WFCS-107.7 CCSU, WHUS-91.7 UConn and WWUH-91.3 UHart to name just a few. Good radio is alive and well below 92 FM.
