One more thing--- I am noticing that more and more of the college freshmen girls I know are pledging sororities!! As an Alpha Sig myself I have no problem with Greek life. The sisterhood, community service, leadership opps and social activities involved are wonderful, fulfilling experiences. I am concerned that first semester freshmen are permitted to explore and pursue such an affiliation. It seems so soon! Am I old-fashioned to think that these students should be adjusting to their academic challenges and independent living for awhile? There are enough temptations and distractions facing even the most disciplined 18 year- olds entering college. Do sororities and fraternities need to add to the situation this early? Help me understand!. Please!!
