One morning in the late 80s, while driving in circles in lutyens Delhi, i came face to face with an adorable, pleasantly plump driver of a Maruti 800. Winter sunlight on Farookh Abdullahs face accentuated the royal persona. But that is not what this is about. A normal looking politician driving a normal car with window glass wound down was a sight i liked and enjoyed. Post my teeny years, I realised his administration & politics too was as casual and worst still what his son apparently inherited is pits. Earlier today, when Omar (in an interview to Ms. BD) more or less conceded mammoth defeat NC will face in J&K elections, its time for introspection, time for another dynasty set for a massive fall and sure there may be some chaos for few months/years but something great will come out of fall of the Abdullahs. Kashmir needs extreme ideologies and motivations to come face to face as a democratic shakeup and BJP and PDP seem to be heading towards providing just that.
