One move Im personally working on this New Year is the REAR-FOOT-ELEVATED (RFE) SPLIT SQUAT. My goal is to be able to do 8 reps with an added load that equals my BODYWEIGHT (225lbs). This is a superb single-leg exercise that strengthens imbalances between sides, mobilizes your hips, and bulletproofs your knees. Add it to your routine and within weeks it will spark new hip and thigh development. Its also easier on the spine than back squats. The back leg gives you just enough support and stability to be able to really load this up and get single-leg strong.
