One must agree that students’ politics should be left to students. One must also agree that from High school level to the University commensurate we are aiming at producing leaders that are well-educated and use the principle of apprehension to work around solving the problem. I believe that sometimes the reasons students do not grow as leaders and they end up not working for students is because they always have external influence that need them to work for them inside the University to satisfy their personal desideratum. As a concerned person out of the University worried about students leadership the only thing you could have done is to teach those people University politics when you were inside the University, once you have left the University let them create their own leadership because you have done well from your side, i.e. grooming leaders that can think for themselves and work as a group and when they are facing troubles thereby they can then come to you and ask for your advice. Today the 30th of October at UKZN, CSRC as the candidate of SASCO . I , Vuyolwethu Zondo Voted with the ANCYL because I believe that their animus was solely for working for Students of UKZN. We become indirect killers of the University as students’ leadership if we are going to give powers of leading the whole 42 thousand students to people who are not ready to lead students and just because we want to pay them back or we are investing in future so that we will have personal benefit in the SRC. That is wrong. Some of us really mean it when we say we want to work for students and putting students’ issues first thereby our personal interests can follow. I am glad if people will be saying they were sold out but as long as the rest of the 42 thousand students were not sold out because after all they are. It is very sad to hear that there are students that did not even know their leadership. I rather be independent and be an island than working with people that are zealous to deal with you because you are choosing what is best for students of UKZN. I hope eventually some comrades will eventually understand that we love working at an advantage of other people before it comes to our sanction. All the best to the newly elected UKZN SRC’s and let us allow students to make their own decisions even in future to build
