One must be in these things to win these things. Just in case it - TopicsExpress

One must be in these things to win these things. Just in case it influences anyone, I really like Qantas and have used them every time I have flown to England. At this point, that is only once. I have been twice, but medical advice told me not to fly the first time, so I went by ship. Sorry Qantas, thats just the way it was... I mean, going by ship was very nice and a great way to see a few different countries. You know, if Id flown, I wouldnt be able to say Ive been to New Zealand, Tahiti, The Panama Canal, Curacao, Venezuela, Barbados, Madeira, past the Rock of Gibralta, through the Mediterranean Sea, Sicily, Greece, Egypt, The Suez Canal and Sri Lanka but oh, going by ship is so time consuming. You have to have 10 spare weeks to travel and you dont get to experience the wonders of complete culture shock or jet-lag, which can be really awesome. Spending five relaxing weeks on the sea and meeting people you know youre only going to spend five weeks with, tends to free most of your inhibitions, but its not all its cracked up to be. I cant actually think of anything particularly negative about my two five-week voyages, although I dont suppose that sort of travel appeals to everyone, what with sea-sickness and that... My tip for that, incidentally, is to get quite drunk on the first night, then when you wake up on the first morning, your body is tricked into believing you feel unwell, simply because of the hangover you must surely have, and the rest of your trip remains motion sickness free... well, thats my experience anyway... Now, what was I on about? Oh yes... Flying is really terrific. It gets you there much quicker than a ship does and doesnt leave you embarrassed by those funny things that can happen in remote countries, when the maximum time you will spend there is about twelve hours... Fly Qantas... Its all of Queensland and the Northern Territory in a fuselage.
