One natural example Robert Scaer gives for TRAUMA (the inability to complete a cycle) is your average housefly (Ill modify his example). Have you ever hit a fly but didnt kill it? It lies there confused and concussed ... then it rights itself up, SHIVERS ITS WINGS, and THEN flies off. If we slowed the series of events down, we would see the following: 1) the fly BEGINS to take off too late, intercepted by our swat, 2) it is knocked dizzy and in a STATE OF DISORIENTATION, 3) as best it can, it REORIENTS itself by righting itself, 4) it SHIVERS its wings, 5) then it FLIES off. Oh, but its not simply SHIVERING its wings... its experiencing what is called EMOTIONAL DISCHARGE. That is to say, before the fly can take off and live a normal life, its COMPLETING THE CYCLE OF ESCAPE. Its not shivering, its simulating flight. Its in a way saying THIS IS WHAT WOULD HAVE SAVED ME!
