One night in April of 1969, Ron and I were on a backstreet in Fitchburg, Mass., a couple miles from Sportsmans Cycles Leominster store, when some big motorcycle zipped by in the dark at the end of the block with an unearthly howl. We had a suspicion what it was, The next day, we went to the Holden store, and sure enough, there was a a CB750/4, one of the first in America! Joe and Walt had bought one from a dealer in Canada where they were already available and brought it to their store to beat everyone else to the punch! If you werent around in those days, you have no idea what a sensation that motorcycle was. Only one other vehicle ever had such a massive impact on its market, and the that was Datsuns 240Z, another bombshell that hit later the same year. Japan was now a major player in motor vehicles. The Universe, it seemed, had changed.
