One of Hollys most delicate and sublime ballads loved by so many over the years. I love the story his brother Larry told in McCartneys 80s doc on Buddy, about how Buddy was convinced the song would top everything else he had done thus far, although it was not from Hollys own pen. Sitting on a couch at Larrys family residence in Lubbock, Texas, during the last visit the Holleys would ever enjoy with him in December 1958, Buddy picked up an acoustic guitar and played it for Larry, who was amazed, saying it was the prettiest thing hed ever heard. Larry would always say in later years how that intimate acoustic treatment of just Buddy alone was a treasured memory which he (Larry) felt was far better than the record with its lush orchestral backing.
