One of Nigeria’s best known faces is nobel laureate Wole Soyinka; whom I have met twice. The first time was at the Newswatch premises in the 80’s soon after the death of my late editor-in-chief and mentor Dele Giwa and almost 20 years later at a lecture series at the University of California, Berkeley where we reminisced briefly about his works and Nigeria.
