One of Our #QualityFitness #Strength & #Conditioning #Coach @coach_shirazi has his client performing the Prone Cobra Exercise as a part of her warmup / core activation series. This exercise is very beneficial if performed properly; it has multiple modifications and is also performed on the Swiss Ball. I use this exercise primarily to strengthen and activate the muscles of the mid-upper back and the back of the arms (triceps, rear delts). A few cues to protect your low-back and to perform this exercise properly are: ✨Tuck your pelvis, squeeze your glutes ✨ Shoulders back & down away from your ears, keeping your chin tucked to maintain a neutral spine ✨ Shoulder blades together, externally rotate your hands and point your thumbs towards the ceiling. This is a great exercise for opening up your chest and overcoming the shoulders rounding-forward posture. I prefer static holds, begin with 30s with good form and work your way up to a 90s hold and you will feel some magic in your body... Happy Hump Day!! #QUALITYFITNESS #qualityfitnessmiami #correctiveexercise #pronecobra #growstronger
