One of Sophies vets believes she should return to Maui this winter to swim in the ocean and feel the warmth of our Maui sun. We just have to get her regulated asap. So, another insulin injection this morning and as Im at the signal light, through my tears trying to figure out how well get her well in just a month and all that goes with getting her to Maui, right in front of me is a car with license tags Hula and on the bumper a well known sticker seen in Maui ..... Save Honolua!! More tears and honking my horn (well, yes, bit dramatic) the lady rolls her window down and I apologize for the honking & say I noticed her bumper sticker & she must be from Maui ..... she says Honokawai and then I knew ..... She is Renee, owner of the Aloha Kitchen here in San Antonio!!! Another long story, but we met over the phone while ordering a lei for Giuliana but had never met in person. More tears, Aloha hugs, and talks of how we can preserve her familys oceanfront land that is surrounded by condo development projects....., as well as access for all to Kapalua Bay, etc. etc. All the signs this ohana needed to know we can just do our best and move forward with plans for Sophie to share the ocean with our beloved Humpback Whales this winter :) Mahalo nui loa God & Angels...
