One of my FB friends just got back from spending a few days with family she had not seen in 30 years as she talked about the time spent with them she mentioned how she felt an instant connection. I can relate my father had a brother and a sister they are all passed now have been for years. I dont recall how I began to collect my cousins one from my uncle abd one from the aunt a distant relative did the family tree then put us in a book. I was the only child who bought the book on my side So I think thats how we first connected. I just wanted to say if you have distant family who make a connection accept them into your life. I am one of 6 children who has felt like I never belonged in my blood family always had an empty heart..When I got married then had my sons my heart began to fill as each friend came into life my heart my heart would fill but still my heart still felt empty. It wasnt until I sat on the beach surrounded by cousins and their mates walking the beach I sat on a stump looking out into the ocean when my cousin Tom sat down next to me and we began to talk all of a sudden he puts his arm on my shoulders and said I really like you Dorothy.. Over that reunion and the reunions since my heart has over flowed with so much love and acceptance things I never felt from my blood family.. until 2011 I never felt my life could not get better but it has that spring my sister JoAnn Murray-Bagley and then later my niece Teena Hardy Acker came into my life via my sister. She is our missing sisters daughter. Families give us the roots if where we come from. I am sad that my siblings not only rejected me but when they were invited to the 2nd cousins reunion no one showed no intetest.. But as the years have gone by I am willing to share them with my sister but my other siblings have each other and I was given the gift and blessings if my cousins. August is here and so is our annual cousin reunion.. Every two years the Bob Murray kids have their big family reunion which cousin Beccie McDonell and zip have been invited to... when she speaks of how her and Jim were accepted into this group of characters I can feel her empty heart has also filled to over flowing. My younger sister JoAnn will her self feel their love and acceptance first hand one day. One reunion Nellie and I were walking down the main street if Grayling our plan was to locate JoAnn Bagley. We had her address on hi way 105 in our hand never did find the house the next reunion we walked again but this time I tied my GPS around my neck We walked 6 miles that day oh well Nellie said we will find her our plan was to walk up up and knock on her door. I looked at every car that past. .Nellie and I walk back to the house we r tired and Larry said why do you have a GPS around your neck... Nellie said we are looking for JoAnn to invite her to the reunion. . Larry later said I did not want to affect Nellie but....I can tell you two are related. . Well thats one story Nellie and I can share when JoAnn finally sits around the campfire.
