One of my Year 11s wrote a speech where he talked about people - TopicsExpress

One of my Year 11s wrote a speech where he talked about people coming to this school from far afield. He concluded with this: What makes home so special, is that it has a different but equally special meaning to each and every person. Seeing young children, who have been forced to flee from their beloved homes for fear of their lives, imprisoned in Detention Centres such as Manus Island should not only make us feel ashamed of our country, but it should force us to realise how lucky we were to be raised in a place called home. Because these young children in detention centres are growing up devoid of everything that makes home so special to us. So impressed. :)
