One of my bestest girlfriends is a shrink. She told me today to take a 12 hour klonopin today at 6 pm and then a short acting Xanax tonight at 9pm after Ive showered Chille and massaged him and said his guided meditation. Then tomorrow morning I will be alert at 5am to sign documents at the hospital. Then at 6 am I can take a 12 hour Klonopin and when hes wheeled into surgery I can take my usual Ativan. The long acting .5 of Klonopin will hopefully calm down the stress chemicals being released in my body that arent good for me long term and the Xanax will put me to sleep tonight and the .5 Ativan once hes in surgery should be enough (with the klonopin) to take the edge off but not sleepy while I can be just conscious enough to take in what the surgeons are reporting without passing out if the news is bad. Thats my plan and Im sticking to it. Chille may come out of surgery just fine or he may be put into a medically induced coma until the swelling goes down because he will need to remain intubated while his throat heals. The good news is the 6 procedures are being done first thing in the morning with a large team in the big, fancy state of the art cardiac operating room so that if anything goes wrong, they can work on Chille properly. The team is set up to hopefully complete the six procedures. His leg surgeon will go in at the end as the last surgeon once his bronchial, laryngeal, paralyzed vocal chord and nose is fixed.
