One of my biggest joys in life was weaving clay. Yes, real - TopicsExpress

One of my biggest joys in life was weaving clay. Yes, real weaving! Not clay work that looks woven. Just over two years ago I was told I could have the art world at my feet. My work was unique in its style and only two other people on the face of this planet were doing publicly woven works but their work so different to my creations. It was with joy Id traced another clay weaver and shared with her my works and happiness that Id found someone to speak with. I was happy not to be alone. But she met me communication with coldness and a little sarcasm. What the hell is wrong with people!!! Ive hundreds of works in my head that will never see past the files of my mind. Go to my site to see some of my work. Probably will be my only work as I have faced the reality of my situation. sam-davies.blogspot The images below are of a woven clay kapok bonsai tree that took me an age to construct. Yes, except for hundreds of glass beads and numerous lengths of copper wire, the tree, gravel and pot is ALL made of paper clay. The flowers are clay with copper and glass bead stamens. Each flower taking over four hours to pains takingly make by hand. The trunk, branches and twigs of different gauge weave. It was on display (as shown in pic below) with some of my other works when I along with two other artists had a joint exhibition. I was meet with outrage by a handful of disgruntled artists who said I had no right to ask $2000 for my one of a kind bonsai tree but expected me to sell her for $200!!! But people told me otherwise as they approached and said they would buy it but didnt have the finances and I should go to Sydney with my work. Yes, I did have and do have buyers but nothing to sell. Two years in NSW and all my plans out the window due to two individuals and my landlord. Blimey, another bloody story that I can not tell due to legal reasons and being at the mercy of my chair kickers. In the words of Ned Kelly: Such is life.
