One of my biggest pet peeves is to see a newbie fitness instructor or personal trainer being treated unfair by a veteran in the fitness world. I’ve witnessed the newbies being mocked, ridiculed, slandered, and verbally abused on social media by the people who should be their mentors. I started my journey in the fitness world in 2008, then jumping feet first in 2010 and I had ZERO help! I felt alone and scared because I couldn’t find anyone willing to help me. I bummed the help of a few friends to get my foot in the door at a couple of gyms and finally one gym in particular let me go in and teach 1x a week for free for 6 weeks. I did this gratefully and with excitement because at least someone was willing to take a chance on me Fast forward 5 years from my original start date and now I feel as a veteran in this industry if I don’t give back to those who are just starting out then while I may not be the one doing the bullying as other fitness veterans do, but I’m not helping it by NOT offering my services. In comes the TDFB program. This program has been a long time in the making :) I had the vision to do something like this a couple of years ago, but honestly felt like I had more to prove before I could help anyone make it as a fitness instructor. Then it dawned on me, who was I trying to prove this to?!? They naysayers? Well that would be a lost cause because they would NEVER believe...so it was time to just trust my journey, believe in myself, and offer help to those who needed it. And here we are
