One of my clients recently said to me, “It always amazes me how much gets done in an hour when we’re on the phone together live.” I was thinking about why that is, and it really comes down to this… There are just three things that get a business out into the world: Ideas, Decisions, and Implementing. Ideas are the inspiration and the source of it all. Playing with possibilities, and visioning what the world can be like, and dreaming up the ways we can contribute. Fun. Addicting even. This is your genius and what makes you a natural born entrepreneur. Decisions, though, make all the difference between being a natural born entrepreneur and being and entrepreneur that’s actually in business. So many people stay stuck - running in place for years - because they are lost in the world of ideas. Nothing every happens. This tagline or that tagline? Blog or podcast? Pot-ay-to or pot-ah-to? You can hem and haw forever, OR you can just pick one, knowing you can correct course as you go. Just decide. And then implement. Most of the time, if you think about it, implementing is just logistics. It’s just a series of a bunch of little steps and, when you do them, the thing gets done. The problem is, it’s not always the fun part. There are nitty gritty details we need to force ourselves to follow through on. Booooring! And, sometimes the required action (like making the phone call where you ask for someone’s business) can be scary. So it is much more comfy cozy in idea land. It is. But the thing you want? It’s not there. The thing you want is on the other side of the implementing. And deciding is the bridge. So, while you have a plethora of ideas and it’s fun and alluring and titillating to hang out with them (I just wanted to say titillating), you gotta choose, and then you gotta move. That’s it. Simple, right? > businessheroinemagazine/workwithanne
