One of my favorite covers of any kind by anyone. Although Dick really shines on this track, it was Jack who exposed me to this cover. I remember at the time, I was the only one in my circle of friends who was really into jazz - listening to jazz was a somewhat solitary passion. This tune always reminded me of a late night 1950s black & white TV show about crime, cops & private eyes. I dont remember exactly when it was, but it must have been like 10 years or more after I had bought this album, I met someone at a party and during conversations discovered another person who knew of this album and appreciated it. Now its so different, thanks to the internet. One of the ways its actually good for something. This is a cover, Jack didnt write the original tune, but man, once in a while, when the lights are low, the house is quiet, those bass notes and that saxophone fill the mood. youtu.be/JHY8WYfzZgE
