One of my favorite issues of the QJAE (Quarterly Journal of Austrian Economics) was Vol. 7, no. 4 (Winter 2004), which was a: SYMPOSIUM: AUSTRIAN LAW AND ECONOMICS, including papers listed below. Several of these papers came out of a 2001 symposium at the Mises Institute on the thought of Adolf Reinach, a brilliant German legal theorist who died very young, in WWI, in 1917, when he was only 33. Who knows what else he would have produced had war not taken him. Some of Reinachs key works include The A Priori Foundations of Civil Law, an English translation of which appeared in the journal Aletheia in 1983 (and which I have scanned and put online here stephankinsella/2009/11/reinach-apriori-foundations-of-the-civil-law/ ) -- and his paper “On the Concept of Causality in the Criminal Law, which I published in the first volume of my journal Libertarian Papers (Vol. 1 (2009), Art. No. 35). This was a previously-unpublished translation (by Dr. Berit Brogaard, one of Barry Smiths colleagues, I believe) of Reinach’s 1905 dissertation for his PhD earned under Theodor Lipps at the University of Munich, which was published in the original German back in 1905. I received help from various people in getting the English translation published, including Barry Smith, Dr. Brogaard, and Johan Ridenfeldt . Here is his intellectual biography, by Barry Smith: ontology.buffalo.edu/smith/book/Reinach/Reinach_Biography.pdf From the symposium: Pitfalls of the Classical School of Crime, by Laurent Carnis Praxeology, Economics, and Law: Issues and Implications, by Larry J.
