One of my former students, who was confined to a wheelchair, passed away yesterday. We found out today. He was very smart and I had fun teaching him Algebra. He went on to Whitney Young where he stayed in touch with me thru Facebook and cell phone pictures. I continued to assist him with math problems that he asked me about. He never let the wheelchair confine his mental ability!! I am so proud to have worked with him. He was so worried about not being able to go swimming for gym class. I told him I thought they would excuse him if he asked nicely. I always will remember making the beep beep noise when he backed up. He just loved it when I joked around with him. I will miss his texts. So tomorrow do not tell me you have any problems because I have always said there is a solution to every single one of them.
