One of my freshman boys today said I get followed every time I go into a store wearing a coat with of pockets, but I guess thats better than getting shot... Wondering how to teach to turn despair into activism. Its a shame that our only vehicle for dealing with this seems to be a legal system that pretends like things always have to be the fault of a person, instead of seeing people as a product of their social realities and questioning why those realities came to be and what we can do to change them.
